The Regenerate Cascadia activation tour of last October inspired a small group of citizens to meet in December to continue the conversation on regenerating Cascadia. That discussion led to the attached invitation to attend a larger Community Conversation, on Feb.17th, around ways to regenerate our local eco-region of Greater Victoria, a hub that is nested in the larger bioregion of Cascadia. As a possible future hub of Regenerate Cascadia, Regenerate Greater Victoria would receive the full support of this Cascadia wide bioregional regeneration movement, should we choose to participate in the Regenerate Hub formation process.
REGENERATE GREATER VICTORIA — a place-based hub within Regenerate Cascadia — warmly invites you to attend a Community Conversation
Let’s discover how we can move forward together with our work of local regeneration. This conversation will center the principles of watersheds,
the living systems that nourish the health of all.
Saturday, February 17th, 2024
10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
at Broad View United Church, 3703 St. Aidan’s St.
What to expect: We will meet in small and large groups, around the inspirations, questions, and projects that are unique to the Greater Victoria hub that nests within our larger bioregion of Cascadia. No previous involvement necessary!
Discovery Café* — event outline
10:00 — Welcome and land acknowledgment
10:15–10:45 — Speaker: Gerald Harris, director of Friends of Bowker Creek, speaking on the
ecology and culture of watersheds
10:45–11:45 — Small group discussions: discover the gifts of, and challenges facing, our
watersheds
11:45–12:15 — Large group harvest: discover themes and patterns observed in our discussions
12:15–12:30 — Open conversation and question period: what are our needs? where are the
supports?
Please invite others from your networks to join this vital conversation. Organizing around
watersheds is critical to the regeneration of entire bioregions, and beyond. We will be stronger
together and amplify our work through our connections to the land and to each other.
SPACE IS LIMITED: Please RSVP by February 14 to also help us comfortably arrange the space at Broad View United.
Please include numbers of invitees and their group or organization, if applicable.
Light refreshments will be available. Also enjoy a stimulating array of maps to inspire curiosity
about our home eco-region. Any maps that you have of the region are welcome for the display.
We look forward to seeing you!
In friendship, the organizing team, Regenerate Greater Victoria
