Launch Event: Bioregional Funding Ecosystems
Check out Brandon’s post on the Regenerate Cascadia website for a good update and lots of photos!  Check it out here!

This just in from Joe Brewer on the BioRegional Earth Blog: Birthing the Earth Regeneration Fund!

Warm Data event was held with Regenerate Greater Victoria
Clare Atwell and 30 other people spent the day diving into “warm data” to better understand it; how to engage with it and how it can support our work.  Check out this resource to dive in yourself:
What is Warm Data?  Warm data is a specific kind of information that shows how the parts of a complex system interact to give vitality to that system. It is equally relevant whether the system is members of a family, organisms in the ocean, social institutions, or departments of organizations, i.e. any complex system.
‘Warm Data illustrates vital relationships between many parts of a system’ ~ Nora Bateson

Courageous Conversations in the Design School
Clare Atwell highlighted the Courageous Conversations in the Design School, Inner Space.  This is a safe space where folks can talk feelings about climate change, collapse and the impacts we feel.
The sessions are held every other week on Mondays and alternate between Theme Sessions and Integration Sessions.  The Theme Sessions will feature a 20-30 minute presentation, followed by an open dialogue. Together we will explore what Collapse means to us and how we relate to it; how to engage others in this contentious subject; and explore how we can tune into our agency on different levels.  The Integration Sessions offer a ‘safe enough’ space to deepen and share our thoughts and feelings on the theme in circle practice, allowing us to heal each other and show up ‘whole’.

Find the information and the zoom link to connect in the Design School, Inner Space.

Regenerate Cascadia working on a solid strategy
The Regenerate Cascadia team has been working with Taya Seidler with Applied Alchemy on a strategy for Regenerate Cascadia to build coherence and alignment with the Regeneration movement, and specifically the Biofi project.

Proposed Cascadia BioFi Conference.
We have decided to focus on the idea of a BioFi conference rather than a “ReFi” summit – which will be a public event next summer (probably May), and that will introduce the idea of BioFi. build excitement, and be a pre-event for a private only gathering we will have later in the summer or fall to launch the Cascadia Funding Ecosystem.

Discussion with Austin Wade Smith – Regen Foundation
Brandon had a rich conversation with Austin Wade Smith of the Regen Foundation exploring very important questions around how we are partnering for “soft” MRV (measurement, reporting, validation).  Good questions include:

  • How are we building in regeneration strategy and funding priorities with the consent of our communities?
  • How are we building treaties, and protocols with First Nations.
