The linked presentation below (and associated book) Hospicing Modernity with Vanessa De Oliveira Andreotti has some fresh ideas about “land acknowledgement” and holistic learning. From a contact in BioDiversity for Climate:

I wanted to share this book and video that we are watching right now in our Bio4Climate DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) ‘group’ called Hospicing Modernity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZgq3h6pPxU.

Her 4 part Introduction / “Land Acknowledgement” is something I would like to share with our participants in some way – starting at the timestamp = 2:45 … not to mention the remaining perspectives she shares.

Thanks so much Clare for bringing in the need to decolonize learning and referencing Vanessa’s work and her book Hospicing Modernity which to me feel essential for our work in regeneration and bioregionalism. Clare Attwell, Pam Woodland and I were just at a powerful session with Vanessa and a chief from the Amazon presenting about the indigenous University of the Forest at U. Victoria where she is Chair of the Education department.
Also there is some great material from her collectivize has created on Decolonizing Conversation here https://decolonialfutures.net/portfolio/depth-conversations/
