- Hello everyone! Each week, we gather informally to share
some of the key discussions, meetings, updates and conversations Regenerate
Cascadia has been having. This isn’t everything we’re working on, but there’s
SO MUCH happening! We want to take a moment to update you on the incredible
diversity and excitement building around this idea. Thanks for taking the time
to check in, read or watch!
- Brandon and Clare talk about their meeting with Cheryl Chen/CoLabs, exploring shared interests and how we might work together. Salmon Nation CoLab is a part of the Bioregional Finance (BioFi) Pathfinders Fundraising Round. Salmon Nation is seen as a Kin Bioregion for Salmon.
- Clare discusses meeting with Carla Stephenson through ArtsBC. Carla runs the Rural Arts Inclusion lab, and she is situated in the Upper Columbia, near Nelson, BC and focuses on community culture development. Clare and Carla will be doing a presentation in the Design School, in the Themed Dialogue area.
- Clare and Brandon discuss meeting with Joe, Penny and Bill Baue with a focus on exploring shared grants, MRV possibilities, sustainable development goals and more.
- Brandon and Clare give BioFi Updates:
- Round Update: Regenerate Cascadia, context. Regenerate Cascadia and 13 others are featured as a crowdfunding campaign. All donations get matched and voting how funds get distributed-the number of contributors more important than amount! Go check it out and donate to all you can-$5.00 or whatever amount you can!
- Clare, Brandon and the other groups involved in the Gitcoin round are being interviewed materials created! Check out this short video to publicize the Gitcoin round on social media.
- All the BioFi Pathfinders Gitcoin Grantees gathered on a Zoom Conference Call today to celebrate and learn together.
- Brandon and Alex Corran continue to explore building a Bioregional Mapping Session for the BioFi Community of Practice (CoP). Perhaps an offering of once a week for 4-6 weeks with design labs. The focus will be a practical hands-on process bio-mapping using interactive digital maps, for developing different layers of information, like geology or salmon, or weather or soil.
- The Design School’s Bioregional Leader Guild had its second meeting with a focus on summaries Penny made from the 1st meeting. The group worked on co-designing “what is a bioregional leader; what are the roles, skills, attributes. You can learn more by watching the recordings in the Design School, Bioregional Leaders Guild. It costs $5 a month to join the Design School. IF this is a barrier for you, please reach out to Brandon or Clare. We want to make this accessible to all.
- Brandon and Clare discuss their current work on the Critical Path with Taya Sidler. The focus now is administrative-the budget, accounting, bookkeeping, hiring needed support.
- Brandon and Clare encourage all to watch the Design School session with Chris Diehl: Technology – Enabled Exploration, In Service of Coordinated Bioregional Scale Action
- Open Futures Coalition-Open Futures Coalition Resilience Fellowship are developing an Open Impact resource library-more soon.
- Clare discussed her meeting with John Wynn who is part of Thames bio region. Clare and John will be doing a presentation on stewardship pathways for John’s bioregion.
- Brandon and Clare discuss a meeting with the Earth Regeneration Fund Group continuing to explore together what an Earth Regeneration Fund looks like, how to manage, what agreements would be needed and more.
- The Edge Finance Accelerator starts tomorrow and Brandon leaves for this tomorrow.
